For instance, perfume was thought to smell 60% nicer when it was packaged in a higher quality box. Similarly, wine tasted 53% better, according to the participants, when the case looked more elegant. The impact of the packaging over senses was so high that people were prepared to pay, on average, nearly three times the price for identical products.
